Tokyo K5|An Industrial-Style Hidden Gem Inside a Century-Old Bank

♦ The hotel’s layout consists of five levels. The first floor and basement house a series of dining and social spaces, while the bedrooms occupy the top three floors. The area with the most plants in the hotel is the Switch café, which also functions as a flower shop. Further ahead is a bar and a caveman-themed restaurant, set against green, blue, pink, and transparent glass. Claesson Koivisto Rune designed several pieces of furniture for these spaces, including a deep red leather-padded long sofa, a small wooden stool, and a low coffee table.

♦ The bed frames are made from hand-dyed curtains featuring a blue and white sky gradient. They are hung in circles, serving solely as the bed frames, with a custom paper lamp hanging overhead. A red “love seat” is placed next to a larger sofa, providing a bright contrasting color. Larger rooms also feature custom Japanese tatami-style rugs produced by Kasthall. The bathrooms have cedar wall panels, black sinks, and tiled floors. #TokyoHotels
