🍃【Tokyo Kiyosumi Park & Garden (Kiyosumi Teien)】A luxurious park stay with nature and history thriving in the downtown area, offering peaceful seasonal beauty
⸻
🌿 Kiyosumi Garden: Approximately 81,000㎡ strolling-style Japanese garden
• A historic and prestigious garden developed by Iwasaki Yataro (founder of Mitsubishi) during the Meiji era for employees and distinguished guests, opened to the public in 1932.
• A forest and spring strolling garden centered around a pond, featuring scenic beauty created by famous stones collected from all over Japan, and a charming “Iso-watari” (stepping stones) that lets you walk close to the water’s edge.
• A teahouse-style Ryotei pavilion appears to float on the pond. A tranquil space where you can feel the interplay of light and shadow and the sway of the wind.
⸻
🎨 Seasonal colors and healing wild birds
• Cherry blossoms (Kanhizakura, Somei Yoshino, Satozakura) can be enjoyed for a long period from March to April; early summer features iris flowers, autumn brings colorful leaves, and winter offers the charm of green pines and snowy landscapes.
• The garden is home to koi, turtles, and wild birds (such as herons and cormorants), attracting many visitors who enjoy birdwatching and the gentle ripples of the waterside.
⸻
🏞 Kiyosumi Park: An open space to enjoy adjacent to the garden
• A park developed from part of the Edo-period garden grounds, featuring a lawn plaza, sports area, playground, and splash pool, perfect for picnics and children’s play.
• The retro Fukagawa Library and a large ginkgo tree-lined avenue are highlights. Popular with local families with children and pets.
