✓ Kiyosumi Garden
June is the season for hydrangeas (ajisai) to bloom. From the south to the north of Japan, you can see traces of hydrangeas, and Tokyo is no exception. On the Sumida River side in Sumida Ward, Kiyosumi Shirakawa is home to a Japanese pond stroll garden called "Kiyosumi Garden," which is a great spot to enjoy hydrangeas in summer. The vibrant hydrangeas in full bloom decorate the lush garden like a poetic and dreamy painting, making it an ideal place for family outings and to escape the summer heat.
Getting to Kiyosumi Garden is very convenient. You can take the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line or the Toei Oedo Line to Kiyosumi-shirakawa Station. From the station, it’s a 3-minute walk to the garden entrance. The admission fee is very affordable at only ¥150, allowing you to visit this Japanese garden famous for its notable stones and enjoy the sea of blooming hydrangeas throughout the garden.
