A Golden Surprise in Wuzhen: Seas of Rapeseed Blossoms

Make sure to visit Wuzhen in March to experience the beauty of a traditional water town in the south of the Yangtze River.
🏨Accommodation: I booked a waterside room in a guesthouse in advance by phone. You can ask if you can reserve a specific building number (I booked buildings 15 and 9, both waterside rooms with great views👍🏻). After arriving at the scenic area, check in first and then book a spot for morning tea (I really wanted to experience the local morning tea culture, and luckily I got a reservation. Morning tea has a limited daily quota, and if it's full, you'll have to pay to experience it).
Luggage🧳: After checking in, go next door to arrange luggage transfer through the Wuzhen Tourist Service mini-program. Dedicated staff will deliver your luggage to the guesthouse.
Things to do⛱️: First, go to the East Scenic Area (tickets cost 80💰, and there's a free🆓 shuttle bus). The East Scenic Area is less crowded, and attractions include the former residence of Mao Dun, the Yu Liuliang Coin Museum, the Jiangnan Woodcarving Museum, the Hongyuantai Dyehouse, the Sanbai Distillery, and the Mu Xin Memorial Hall. Then, take the free🆓 shuttle bus (every 30 mins) back to the West Scenic Area. Take a boat at the Andu Ferry Terminal⛵️ (about 25 mins) and get off at the Wenchang Pavilion Pier. From there, stroll forward (attractions in order: Guandi Temple➡️Water Theater➡️White Lotus Pagoda➡️Wuzhen Post Office🏤➡️Xiqing Hall).
⚠️The best time to take a boat trip in Wuzhen is at sunset. It's truly beautiful, and the scenery on both sides is a feast for the eyes.
