Western Sichuan

In autumn, Western Sichuan looks like God spilled a palette of colors 🎨. From the golden birch forests to the picturesque lakes, every frame is a masterpiece! This route perfectly packages the essence of Western Sichuan's autumn scenery~

🚗 Recommended self-driving itinerary:
📍 First stop: Xinduqiao
The autumn here is breathtaking! Golden birch forests paired with Tibetan-style houses make every shot wallpaper-worthy. It’s best to shoot in the early morning or evening when the light is softest.

📍 Second stop: Daocheng Yading
Milk Lake and Five Color Lake beneath the three sacred mountains reflect the autumn colors on the water beautifully! The hiking trails are tough but absolutely worth it. Remember to bring an oxygen tank and sunscreen~

📍 Third stop: Hailuogou
A unique experience soaking in hot springs while watching glaciers! The Red Stone Beach is especially vibrant in autumn. It’s recommended to take the sightseeing bus to Camp 3 and then explore on foot.

📍 Fourth stop: Siguniang Mountain
The autumn colors in Shuangqiao Valley are the richest, with snow-capped mountains, colorful forests, and lakes all in one frame. You can take the park shuttle bus to each viewpoint, perfect for a lazy travel style!

🍁 Best time to enjoy autumn:
From mid to late October to early November, when the leaves are the most golden and beautiful! The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so be sure to bring enough clothes.

📸 Photography tips:
- Wearing red or white clothes makes the best photos
- The best light is at 9 AM and 4 PM
- Don’t forget to bring a tripod for shooting stars and reflections

🏠 Accommodation recommendations:
Xinduqiao and Daocheng both have many unique Tibetan-style guesthouses, booking in advance is recommended. Accommodation in Yading Village inside Daocheng Yading Scenic Area is basic but very convenient for watching the sunrise.

🥘 Must-try foods:
Yak meat hotpot, butter tea, barley cakes... In the plateau area, remember to eat high-calorie foods to replenish energy!
