Fen City Ancient City Travel Guide, Filming Location of "The Ordinary People"

This time, I also went to "Yun Yao."

I always thought that the "Yun Yao" ancient city that Zhuang Tunan went to in the hit drama "The Ordinary People" was filmed in Hancheng, Shaanxi, until I came to Fen City Ancient City in Linfen, Shanxi, and found the original scene in the TV series. Although this ancient city, which was built in the Tang Zhenguan period, is not well-known, it is one of the top ten ancient building complexes in Shanxi. This kind of original, non-commercial ancient city is really great for me.

🏯About Fen City Ancient City
A serious ancient city with a thousand-year history, now in Xiangfen County, Linfen, Shanxi, the fiefdom of Yuchi Gong in the past. It still retains a large number of ancient buildings from the Jin Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, especially around the Drum Tower. There are also many building complexes from the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which are full of the sense of the times. This is much better than the antique buildings in the film and television city.

👣Walking route
Chenghuang Temple ➡️ Yizhen Arch ➡️ Jiancha Arch ➡️ Confucian Temple ➡️ Minglun Hall ➡️ Kui Xing Pavilion ➡️ Examination Hall ➡️ Xueqian Pagoda ➡️ Drum Tower ➡️ County Government Office ➡️ Guandi Temple ➡️ Sheji Temple ➡️ Hongji Bridge

📸Must-see
✅Drum Tower: The four sides are "Looking at Tafen in the East", "Looking at Gushe in the West", "Connecting to Yu Ji in the South", and "Facing Yaodu in the North". The ancient city's national security monument is also here.
✅Chenghuang Temple: A building from the Ming Dynasty, with a colorful glazed screen wall at the entrance and two wooden arches at both ends (Yizhen Arch + Jiancha Arch), the filming location of "The Ordinary People"
✅Confucian Temple: Built in the Tang Dynasty, it has the Dacheng Gate with a gable and hip roof from the Ming Dynasty, and houses the steles of Wen Zhengming, one of the four great talents in Jiangnan.
✅Sheji Temple: The caisson ceiling of the Ming Dynasty building is extremely beautiful and hidden in an abandoned hospital.
✅Guandi Temple: Built in the Yuan Dynasty, it is hidden in a residential building.

Thanks to "Black Myth: Wukong," it has been closed for many years, and now it is finally secretly open. The ancient city is not big, and walking is the best way to travel. The only shortcoming is that the navigation cannot accurately locate a certain small spot. It is currently being developed into a scenic spot. Take advantage of the free admission and go!
