A Glimpse of Yuanyang Rice Terraces in Spring

Since being listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site, the Hani Rice Terraces, especially after the spring irrigation, have attracted many tourists with their man-made wetland scenery, ethnic residential buildings, forest landscapes, and folk customs.

In early spring, if there is a drizzle the night before, the mountains, forests, and terraces will be covered with a thin layer of mist in the morning, adding a touch of beauty and mystery to the landscape. When the sun rises high and the fog dissipates, the scenery changes again.

If you have limited time and don't want to buy closed scenic spot tickets, you can still glimpse the magical charm of the terraces and some residential buildings in open areas such as Qingkou. If you want to enjoy the beautiful scenery to the fullest, the paid areas are more impressive, but they require time to savor.

Tips: The scenic spots around Bada offer good value. The road to the Laohuzui scenic spot is a bit far and rough, and the locals are a little too enthusiastic.

There are various homestays and local cuisine within the scenic area. Staying in Yuanyang County may offer more dining and accommodation options, but the county is about 30 to 50 km from the scenic area, suitable for self-driving tourists. The road conditions are relatively good. The scenic spot tickets are valid for three days, so you can take your time if you have enough time.
