The Over-Reliance on Lab Monologues"
While I appreciate the effort to create a narrative—the whole "scientific experiment gone wrong" premise—the middle section, which took place in the mock-up research lab, dragged due to lengthy dialogue. An actor, clearly a very talented university student, spent nearly five minutes explaining the fictional fungal outbreak and its relation to a rare orchid specimen. The set design of the decaying lab notebooks and biohazard signs was phenomenal, but the immersion broke when we had to stand still and listen to what felt like a lecture. I wish they had used more visual storytelling or shorter, more intense verbal warnings instead of such detailed exposition. The moment we resumed moving, the intensity immediately returned, but those stops ruined the pacing significantly.
