My 16-year-old daughter and her friends absolutely loved it. The scares are sophisticated enough to genuinely frighten adults, but the lack of excessive gore means it doesn't cross the line into truly traumatic horror, making it ideal for the high school crowd. The scientific angle appealed to their sense of irony and intelligence. The focus on psychological tension (mutated people, failing technology) over traditional ghosts and witches was a huge win. We felt it was worth the premium ticket price for the quality of the production and the fact that it was genuinely engaging for that hard-to-please age group.
