Located in Mianchi County, Sanmenxia City, the Yangshao Grand Canyon is a scenic canyon-style area composed of quartz sandstone. It is renowned for its treacherous, unique, clear, secluded, mysterious, spiritual, wild, and beautiful landscapes, as well as numerous cultural attractions. The canyon is divided into six gorges: Health Valley, Woyang Gorge, Zen Valley, Dragon and Tiger Gorge, Golden Lantern Gorge, and Hanging Coffin Valley. It boasts over 500 scenic spots, including the Yangshao primitive tribe in Hanging Coffin Valley, considered the largest in China.

Strange peaks rise steeply on both sides of the canyon, reaching a mere 3.5 meters at its narrowest point and over 50 meters at its widest. The peaks, shaped by wind and water erosion, have taken on diverse shapes, resembling birds and beasts. Fairy Gorge, with its sheer cliffs, moss-covered rocks, and cascading waterfalls, is incredibly steep. Shengui Gorge, with its interconnected pools and springs, boasts picturesque views of grotesque rocks and peaks. Dragon and Tiger Gorge, dotted with ancient trees, features caves and temples, winding paths, and a fairyland-like atmosphere. Golden Lantern Gorge, with its winding peaks and steep, serene waters, is a breathtaking spectacle.
