Introducing Jiujiang Flower Path

Huajing, located 2 kilometers southwest of Guling Street in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, at an altitude of 1,035 meters, was once home to Dalin Temple, one of the three most famous temples in Lushan's history (Xilin Temple, Donglin Temple, and Dalin Temple). During the Tang Dynasty, this area was known as "the first scenic spot in Kuanglu." Huajing was the spot where the great Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi wrote "Peach Blossoms in Dalin Temple."

There's a lake in Huajing, now known as Ruqin Lake. Built in 1961, Ruqin Lake covers 110,000 square meters and has a reservoir capacity of 1 million cubic meters. It's named for its violin-like surface. It's also called Huajing Lake because it borders Huajing.

The lake holds an oval-shaped island in the center. A nine-curve bridge connects the island to the shore. Surrounded by verdant pines, the island resembles a lush green necklace stretched across the lake. The Yiqin Pavilion stands at the east end, while a waterside pavilion stands at the west.

Climate and best time to travel

The subtropical monsoon climate is hot in summer and mild in winter, and the flower paths offer different colors of flowers in each season, making it a great place to visit in all four seasons.

Recommended number of days and locations for visiting

By the lake, you can see the main gate of the Flower Path. Next to the gate is the inscription "Flower Path," flanked by the couplet "Flowers bloom in the mountain temple, poems linger in the poet." Inside, a large stone carving of "Bai Sima Flower Path" by calligrapher Hu Xianya is visible. On the grassy lawn stands a round pavilion with an umbrella-shaped red roof. This is the Flower Path Pavilion. Inside, the stone plaque inscribed with the characters "Flower Path" is said to be inscribed by Bai Juyi.

The flower path also features the Bai Juyi Thatched Cottage exhibition hall. Built in 1988, it faithfully recreates the architectural style described in Bai Juyi's "Lushan Thatched Cottage": "five thatched cottages, three thatched rooms, stone steps, hanging pillars, and woven bamboo walls." Facing south, it features a wooden structure and a thatched roof. To the east of the cottage lies a waterfall, over a meter in height, pouring into a stone channel, creating a sound reminiscent of the sound of a zither.

It is recommended to play for about 2 hours.
