Yangjialing, located in Yangjialing Village, about 3 kilometers northwest of Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province , was the residence of the leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China from November 1938 to March 1947. It was also the headquarters of the Party Central Committee during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and a revolutionary holy place at that time.
In those days, vigorous mass production movements and rectification movements were carried out here. Now, there are two main sites for visitors to visit: the site of the Seventh National Congress of the CPC Central Committee and the site of the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art. On the small hill behind the site, there is a row of cave dwellings scattered around. These were the residences of leading comrades such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, and Liu Shaoqi.
Yangjialing, a revolutionary site of historical significance, was the longest-residence of Mao Zedong and other central leaders in Yan'an, where many influential events unfolded. Chairman Mao's former residence in Yangjialing is located on a hillside to the right of the Central Office Building at the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site. Within the courtyard are three stone caves, facing west and east. The center cave housed an office, the left one a dormitory, and the remaining caves served as staff quarters. During his time here, Mao Zedong published many important articles, including "Oppose Surrender," "On New Democracy," "Reform Our Study," and "Rectify the Party's Style of Work," contributing to his leadership in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

The Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in the Great Hall of the People from April 23 to June 21, 1945. From then on, Mao Zedong served as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Communist Party of China became the second largest party in the world after the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The Seventh National Congress was the last and most important congress held by the Communist Party of China during the democratic revolution.
