National Geological Museum of China

A niche museum for kids. You can take Metro Line 4 to Xisi Station, and the museum is right outside the station. Very convenient. Note: Closed on Mondays. Tickets are very affordable, CNY 15 for adults, free for students and seniors. You can buy tickets on site or book in advance via the official WeChat account.

Must-see exhibition halls: 1F Earth Hall: Learn about the evolution, structure, and geological processes of the Earth. The models and display boards are very intuitive, giving you a deeper understanding of the planet we live on.

2F Mineral and Rock Hall: A dazzling array of exquisite mineral and rock specimens, including dazzling gems and unique crystals.
2F Gem Hall: A favorite among girls! A display of various precious gems, including diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and more, each shining with a unique brilliance.
3F Prehistoric Animal Hall: A favorite among kids who love dinosaurs. Travel back in time to the ancient era and experience the scene of prehistoric creatures once roaming the Earth.
Photo spots: Large specimens in each exhibition hall, such as the giant globe and dinosaur fossils, are great places to take photos.
Science films: Science films are played on a loop in the theater on the first floor. Stamps: There are 9 free stamps at the service desk on the first floor. The temporary exhibition hall on the third floor may have a treasure hunt. Dog head gold in the Gem Hall on the second floor, insured for CNY 6 million. Earthquake simulation: Build a house with blocks and test its earthquake resistance.
