One of Beijing's must-see attractions is the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. This historic residence, once home to emperors and their concubines, is rich in historical value. Its red walls and tiled roofs adorn the entire Forbidden City, from the Meridian Gate entrance to each palace and back garden.
The Forbidden City is vast, and exploring each palace and exhibition hall could easily take up an entire day. It offers a glimpse into the living conditions of ancient emperors and their concubines. I wonder if your visit will bring back scenes from period dramas?
Tickets must be booked six days in advance through the official WeChat mini-app or website. There are no same-day ticket purchases or information desks available on the day of your visit. Remember to check the museum's opening and closing times. The Forbidden City offers morning and afternoon sessions, and there are winter and summer ticket and opening hours options, so be sure to research them before your visit.
