One of the most important Buddhist temples in South Korea

Beomeosa is located in the Geumjeongsan Mountains in northern Busan. Founded in 678 during the Silla Kingdom, it is considered a guardian temple of the city. The name translates to 'Temple of the Fish-Tiger,' based on a legend about a divine fish living in a heavenly pond on the mountain.

What makes Beomeosa special:
• 🌲 Located in the mountains — fresh air, tranquility, an ideal place for meditation.
• 🏯 Preserves ancient architecture: stone gates, a three-story pagoda, and the Daeungbojeon Hall, recognized as a national treasure.
• 🧘♀️ Offers Temple Stay programs — spend a night at the temple, participate in meditation, morning ceremonies, and monks' meals.
• 🍁 Especially beautiful in autumn — maple tree paths and mist over the mountains create a cinematic scene.
• 🚶♂️ Starting point for trekking routes on Geumjeongsan Mountain — one of the best hikes in Busan.
