Guangde Family Deep Tour|A Complete Guide to the Less Crowded and Beautiful Hidden Gem Town in Southern Anhui

Want to take the kids and avoid the crowds? Guangde, this small town in Southern Anhui, is definitely worth visiting again and again! Located at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, it’s just 2.5 hours from Nanjing. The mountain road drive is scenic all the way: lush bamboo forests, clear streams, and even the air smells of fresh greenery. The best part is the light traffic during holidays, making traveling with kids feel very safe~

🏨 Accommodation Experience: Paloma Yunmeng Valley Hotel

The valley hotel we stayed at felt like a world apart, with a three-bedroom villa featuring a private courtyard where kids can run freely. However, the villa’s living room is small, better suited for family-only activities. The hotel’s food is average, so we highly recommend trying the nearby farmhouse restaurants to unlock authentic Guangde cuisine! Note: Guangde dishes tend to be salty and spicy, so remember to request less spice when ordering for kids!

🌉 Off-the-Beaten-Path Spot: Matianli Suoshan Bridge

A century-old stone bridge hidden in the village, untouched by commercialization, showcasing the original beauty of the mountains and fields. In summer, you can take the kids to play in the stream and on the rocks; in other seasons, it’s perfect for photography and leisurely walks to experience the true meaning of “slow life.”

🎠 Fun Highlights: Yunjing Niushan Resort

Cliff swings, heart-stopping suspension bridges, rainbow slides… so many activities you can’t finish them all! Although some attractions close on rainy days, the light crowds mean no waiting, and kids can repeatedly enjoy the glass plank road and sky mirror without getting bored. The swing in the mist feels like walking in the clouds, even timid kids dare to try it~

Due to a tight schedule and rainy weather, Ling Mountain Grand Canyon and Taiji Cave will be saved for next time. But the relaxed vibe of Guangde has already made us decide: we’ll come back for a second visit next year!
