I've always had a special fondness for some European-style colorful cottages. In the past, we used to visit Pak Lap Village in Shek O or Sai Kung for check-ins and sightseeing on holidays, but due to the remote locations, it sometimes took a lot of time and effort.
When I learned that Ma Wan was building a colorful cottage resort integrating elements of art and conservation, I was super excited and thrilled. The transportation to Ma Wan is very convenient, with ferries or buses available, and the travel time is only about 15 to 30 minutes. This time, we took a bus from Tsing Yi Station to Ma Wan 1868, which took about 10 minutes.
Perhaps because it was a weekday, there weren't many tourists, and the environment was very quiet and beautiful. Although many restaurants and holiday homes were not yet fully completed, there were plenty of photo spots. This time, we chose a new restaurant we had never tried before; the decor was very distinctive and there was a bit of a surprise.
We ordered:
🌟 Black truffle, brown mushroom, mushroom, and arugula pizza
The pizza was a mini pizza, divided into about four pieces. The black truffle flavor was very rich, combined with melted cheese, making it quite tasty and suitable for vegetarians.
🌟 Black pepper beef with garlic black truffle wheat fusilli
The black truffle fusilli looked good and was very suitable for kids. Maybe because I was hungry, I thought the taste was quite good.
🌟 Pistachio cake
A surprisingly delightful pistachio cake with layers, containing crunchy chocolate bits inside and a rich pistachio flavor, not too sweet.
🌟 Caramel coffee
A decent caramel coffee; the latte art wasn’t very outstanding, but enjoying a cup of coffee in this beautiful environment was nice.
🌟 Freshly squeezed lemon soda
My little brother said this lemon soda was very delicious, very refreshing, perfect for the hot weather outside, and very thirst-quenching and cooling.
Inside the restaurant, there is a very large and cute store manager named Polarbear. Some customers come specifically to visit him; he is really well-behaved.
Visiting this new landmark this time felt very relaxing and comfortable. Looking at the beautiful view of the Tsing Ma Bridge and the colorful cottages helped ease the usual stress of life. After spending half a night enjoying life here, I hope to have the chance to come here for a day of vacation next time.
