This holiday, I visited Hsinchu's Chenghuang Temple, which is not only one of the most iconic temples in the area but has also developed into a bustling shopping district that attracts countless tourists and food enthusiasts. Walking into this place, you can feel the rich traditional cultural atmosphere and taste many classic Hsinchu delicacies.
Starting from the temple, the enticing aromas make your mouth water, with local snacks like duck rice, spring rolls, and meatballs at the temple entrance. Additionally, must-try dishes include Hsinchu rice noodles and meatball soup.
This year happens to be the Lantern Festival in the Year of the Snake, and the Chenghuang Temple is showcasing many creative lantern competition entries. The entire temple courtyard is filled with a lively festive atmosphere. When the lights are turned on at night, it offers a unique charm, allowing people to experience the blend of tradition and innovation. Visiting Hsinchu Chenghuang Temple is not just about enjoying the food but also about experiencing the city's history, culture, and festive vitality.
