Hualien must-see free attraction General's Mansion

If you travel to Hualien, you must visit the Japanese-style dormitory on the banks of Meilun Creek, commonly known as the "General's Mansion". This is the core military dormitory complex on the Hong Kong Line during the Japanese occupation of Hualien. It was built in 1936 and became a dormitory for the National Army after World War II. One of these dormitory complexes is a county monument, while the other seven near its surroundings are historic buildings. In 2020, Hualien County Government carried out the restoration of cultural assets. After the restoration, it was called "General's Mansion 1936 Park".
