If you are looking for a city suitable for emptying, slow walking (city walk), Jingdezhen must be a good choice. As China's thousand-year-old porcelain capital, not only has a rich cultural heritage, but also many things to take pictures and play. This time I share with you my top three most recommended places to play: Sanbao International Ceramics Village, Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative Street and Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Tourism Area.
Attraction recommendations
weekend afternoons until walking into Tao Kee Chuan to explore creative markets and eat beautiful food;
The next morning, we will take a half-day trip to Sanbao Village, and in the evening we will go to Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Tourism Area to slowly walk the streets and feel the style of the century-old town.
🎨Sambo International Ceramic Village
Address: Sijia, Sanbao Village, Changjiang District, Jingdezhen City
Opening Hours: Open all day year-round
There are many pottery workshops where artists of different styles gather. You can book a ceramics DIY experience class to rub clay or paint porcelain with your own hands, which is super healing. The environment of the village is very comfortable, suitable for slow walking, taking pictures of the village's characteristic buildings and art installations, so that you can feel another kind of leisure.
Playing tip: If you want to experience pottery, remember to book a course in advance. The on-site course may be full.
🖼️ Tao Xi Chuan Cultural and Creative District
Address: No. 150, Xinchang West Road, Zhushan District, Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province
Opening Hours: Open all day year-round
Tao Kee Chuan is a super popular cultural and creative photo spot with creative souvenir shops, design restaurants, coffee shops and weekend markets. I recommend you to walk slowly and enjoy the exhibition of ceramic works and the super eye-catching graffiti wall. Many authentic snacks and specialty drinks are suitable for a break. Every corner of the photo is super design.
Visiting Tips: There will be a ceramic market on weekends, making it easier to find unique souvenirs, while paying attention to the crowds, for quiet it is recommended to go on weekdays.
🏡Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Tourism Area
Address: No. 187, Zhushan Middle Road, Zhushan District, Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province
Opening hours: 08:30-22:00
Tickets: 53 yuan
Taoyangli is one of the most storied old streets in Jingdezhen, preserving century-old kilns, green brick old houses and stone slab roads. It is recommended to walk slowly, visit the ceramic museum, old kiln field, and feel the life of former craftsmen. A must-visit spot is the old kiln chimney and the retro archway, where the light and shadow are the most beautiful at dusk. There are ceramic craft demonstrations nearby. If you want to learn more about the culture of the thousand-year-old porcelain capital, you must join an on-site tour.
Travel tips: It is recommended to reserve 2 hours to savor the street and take pictures. Some exhibition halls have regular explanations. You can pay attention to the official announcement.
🔔Practical advice
1. Each scenic area is very large, remember to wear comfortable shoes, lightweight clothes.
3. Ceramic DIY recommends booking online in advance.
4. After entering the Three Treasures Village, it is recommended to rent an electric chicken car or take a battery car between the wandering attractions.
