Where to go in Montenegro 🇲🇪

Montenegro is one of the most underrated European countries.

1. Kotor – A Must-See Among Montenegro Tourist Sites

Kotor is one of the top places in Montenegro, and it’s easy to see why. The town sits by the sea, surrounded by huge mountains and a beautiful bay. Its old town is really charming, with stone streets, little shops, and a big old church. If you like views, you can walk up the city walls—it’s a bit of a climb, but the view from the top is amazing!

2. Perast, the most beautiful place in Montenegro

One of the best places to visit in Montenegro is Perast – a small village by the Kotor Bay that feels like a postcard. Quiet, peaceful, and full of charm, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. You can take a short boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, a tiny island with a lovely church and great photo spots. In my opinion, this is the best place to admire the beauty of the bay. Grab a coffee by the water and just take it all in—it’s unforgettable.

3. Budva

Out of all the coastal towns we visited, Budva was one of the liveliest and most fun. It has a great mix of beaches, restaurants, and nightlife, plus a charming old town you shouldn’t miss. I chose it as our base and lived there for two months—if you’re into beach days, it’s a great pick with plenty of beautiful spots nearby, like Mogren and Jaz.
