Kyoto's Perfect Omakase Experience

Located about a 15-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station.

This month marks the grand opening of Sushi Ichi, and I couldn't wait to try it out. After dining here, I can confidently say that this meal alone is worth a special trip to Kyoto. The omakase dishes are imbued with a sense of ceremony and seasonal flair, and every single item reflects the chef's sincerity and meticulous effort.

From sushi, seafood, tempura, to wagyu beef, every dish is exquisitely prepared and delicious. I enjoyed five types of sushi, with the sea urchin and salmon roe being incredibly fresh. The tempura had a light, crispy, and sweet coating, while the vegetables inside retained their moisture—fried eggplant and corn were particularly delightful. The potato dish with eel in the middle was astonishingly good, with a silky and delicate texture complemented by the sauce. Each bite felt like a celebration of life. The dessert exceeded my expectations, featuring a fruit platter with green grapes, cantaloupe, and peaches that were fresh and sweet.

The two master chefs not only crafted exquisite dishes but also provided friendly service. They even offer their own cooking classes, which can be booked for an interactive experience. As true teachers, they patiently engaged with guests, creating a lively atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable and eager to participate.
