Kibune and Kurama Shrines

This journey truly tested my middle-aged stamina, but the beauty and spiritual aura of the shrines soothed my soul.

Some sacred places are best appreciated from a distance. One must approach them with sincerity and calmness, coexisting harmoniously.

The energy of Mount Kurama kept me going, though my travel companion seemed to have reached their limit. The day was quite rushed, all for collecting the Mizugami Goshuin. If my companion were also a collector enthusiast, they might have enjoyed it more (thank you for your understanding, travel buddy). Haha.

The lights of Kibune Shrine lit up at dusk, blending perfectly with the atmosphere. The only word to describe it is "divine." However, before reaching the inner shrine, I was already feeling dizzy. I rested and took photos near the steps and the main gate.

The cable car at Kurama Temple was very cool and perfect for our tired legs. Upon reaching the main hall, we found it under renovation, so we couldn’t fully experience the temple, which was a bit disappointing.

The fox messengers at Fushimi Inari Shrine were as adorable as ever. Under the thousand torii gates, countless spirits seemed to pass through. Taking photos required patience, just like years ago. The vibrant red of the torii gates paired beautifully with the clear blue skies that day—such a stunning sight, truly picturesque!
