🏯 Matsumoto Castle, one of the 5 national castles in Japan, is holding the Castle Town Festival of Light & Ice, a special festival that combines both "Matsumoto Castle Projection Mapping" and "Ice Sculpture Exhibition" in one event, amidst the atmosphere of the city lit up with lights and snowy mountains.

✨ Matsumoto Castle has been transformed into a state-of-the-art work of art, with projection mapping displays on the walls and the castle itself, depicting the works of legendary Japanese ukiyo-e artists "Katsuchika Hokusai" and "Utagawa Hiroshige", along with a light and sound show that combines laser mapping and digital art.

🌸 The event is divided into 2 periods:
・Shining Culture: January 9 - January 29, 2025
See the transmission of the city's uniqueness, such as ancient crafts and indigo dyeing.
・Spring in full bloom: January 30 - February 16, 2025
Enjoy a digital flower field that reproduces the beauty of the flowers in the Northern Alps.

※ The show will start at 18:00 - 22:00. Each show will last approximately 9 minutes, with a 3-minute break before the next show.

❄️ The ice sculpture event will be held from January 24 to 26, 2025. Enjoy ice sculpture competitions by artists from all over Japan who will compete in creating creative ice sculptures, and enjoy the giant ice slide over 20 meters long and various activities on stage!
