Taking a train to Houtong to play with cats

This time, my travel companion was my son. We chose to take a local train from Taipei Station to Houtong for a leisurely walk. Upon arriving at Houtong Station, it was clear that this small town is truly a paradise for cats—even the station master is a feline! Houtong was historically known for its coal mining industry, so Guangfu Village primarily consisted of miners' dormitories. Nowadays, most of these are sparsely inhabited, with some being rented out to outsiders to open small tea houses, cafes, or cultural and creative shops. The town exudes a laid-back atmosphere, and during our walk, we frequently encountered a few cats. Their lazy demeanor naturally brought out the childlike joy in us.
