[Shimanami Kaido] Ikuchi Island 📿 Kosanji Temple

Kosanji Temple is a Jodo Shinshu Honganji temple built in 1966 by former Osaka businessman Kosanji Kozo with the hope of expressing his gratitude to his mother. It is also known as the "Mother's Temple."

It was built as a homage to the Jodo Buddhist temples of the Nara and Heian periods, incorporating twill patterns and crimson colors.

Its 15 buildings are designated as registered tangible cultural properties by the nation.
