Climbing Tiangui Mountain with kids in autumn, encountering a 500-year-old golden ginkgo rain!

This time, bringing the kids to Tiangui Mountain, I was completely captivated by the 500-year-old ginkgo tree at the summit! It was the leaf-fall season, and the kids were running and jumping among the golden ginkgo leaves—such a healing scene~

🚗 Transportation advice: Driving is the most convenient, about 1.5 hours from the city center directly to the scenic area; you can also take a bus from the North Station, but driving is recommended when with kids for easier carrying of snacks and water.

💛 Qinglong Temple Ginkgo Viewing:

The ancient ginkgo tree at Qinglong Temple on the summit is the highlight of this trip! Over 500 years old, its leaves turn brilliantly golden in autumn, and when they fall, it looks like "ginkgo rain." Kids love picking up leaves and posing with them. The ancient buildings inside the temple are also very charming; the Zhenwu Hall and Daguangming Hall retain their original style, perfect for a simple introduction to traditional culture for children.

✅ Easy version: Take the cable car up the mountain, then a 10-minute gentle slope walk to the ginkgo tree, suitable for families with babies or strollers.

✅ Challenge version: Hike up the mountain for about 1 hour; the steps are beginner-friendly and help build kids' stamina, with beautiful forest scenery along the way.

On the way down, don’t miss the glass plank road and Zhenwu Cave! Kids love the glass plank road. Zhenwu Cave is a natural karst cave, but it’s dimly lit and has a mysterious atmosphere; if your child is afraid of the dark, you might want to skip it.

🩵 A little reminder:

The statues inside Zhenwu Cave tell the story of the Great Emperor Zhenwu, but the cave is deep and dark, so for very young or timid children, it’s best to just look from the entrance. One day is enough for the whole trip—fun and fulfilling without being tiring~
