Wat Mahathat Worawihan is an ancient temple over 1,000 years old. It is assumed that it was built in the Dvaravati period around the 15th-16th Buddhist century and a castle was built in Khmer or Lopburi art overlapping in the 18th Buddhist century to be the center of the city according to the beliefs of Khmer cosmology. Later, the castle must have collapsed, so a new prang was built in the early Ayutthaya period, resulting in the current architectural style overlapping.

Arriving at Wat Mahathat Worawihan, another thing you must not miss is to pay homage and ask for blessings from Phra Mongkhonburi, an ancient Buddha statue in the early Ayutthaya art. If you come to visit Ratchaburi Province, come and see its beauty. Khmer Art Castle, come and pray to Phra Mongkhonburi at Wat Mahathat Woramahawihan
