Nanzoin Temple: A Landmark in Fukuoka

Nanzoin Temple in Fukuoka is a destination that spiritual seekers, especially women, should not miss. It's considered a signature spot of Fukuoka! Getting there is super easy—just take the JR train to Kido-Nanzoin-mae Station from Hakata, which takes only about 30 minutes. From the station, it's just a short walk to the temple.

The highlight you absolutely cannot miss is the "Reclining Buddha," the largest of its kind in Japan! This temple is famous in Fukuoka, and the head monk is known for frequently winning the lottery. He even used his winnings from a first-prize lottery to build the Reclining Buddha statue. The atmosphere is serene, with cool breezes and lush greenery surrounding the area. Walking around the temple grounds is refreshing and not tiring at all.

Near the Reclining Buddha, there's a rope you can hold while making a wish. Simply drop some coins, clap your hands twice, and make your prayer—whether it's for love, career, or health, this place has it all. Photography enthusiasts will also love it here, as there are plenty of picturesque spots to capture stunning photos.

• Parking is available at the bottom of the hill, or you can take the JR train to Kido-Nanzoin-mae Station.
Open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
