Sendai: Shrines, Samurai, and Surprises Around Every Corner

Sendai was such a vibe — from the moment I arrived at the buzzing Sendai Station, I knew this trip would hit different. First stop: Ōsaki Hachimangū, with its long stone path, bright red torii gates, and rows of lanterns that felt like walking into a festival frozen in time. The gourd charms swaying in the wind were such a cool touch — never seen that before.

Then came the stairs — yes, those stairs. A peaceful climb through a green tunnel of trees that led to an epic view and some serious shrine serenity.

Topped it all off with a visit to Sendai Castle Ruins, where the giant eagle statue watches over the city like a boss. History, nature, and chill vibes all packed into one city. Sendai = underrated gem.
