The Liuyue Museum: Be amazed by the overwhelming amount of exhibits and the unique, colorful displays

This is a private museum in Lili Ancient Town, Wujiang. It displays Chinese folk crafts and antique furniture that American Du Weiming has personally collected over many years.

Items used in Qing and Ming dynasties households include carved wooden ornaments, dressing tables, Shinto altars, antique furniture, and warding off evil spirits paintings to hang in the entranceway.

The amount is just amazing!!! There are about 20-100 items in each category on display, and I was really surprised that this was collected and stored by an individual.

A Chinese person who passed by while looking at the overwhelming amount of exhibits sighed, "It's really amazing..." It's a level that even Chinese people are amazed by.

I watched a video of the founder Du Weiming speaking. "When I first came to China as an international student in the '80s, I was shocked by Chinese culture. I started collecting antiques and furniture, and when the warehouse was full I rented a new one. My family asked me what I was going to do with all that stuff, but I kept collecting without knowing what to do with it myself," he said in fluent Chinese. What a love for China!

The exhibition method is unique, and the background is very colorful! I've never seen that in any other museum. There were also many exhibits that I'd never seen in any other museum. I was able to imagine the lives of the locals, which was very interesting.
