8-day itinerary for New Zealand's South Island (Queenstown IN, Chi Chi OUT)

Day 1: Arrival in Queenstown and city walk
- Arrive in Queenstown and take a light walk around the town with the beautiful lake and mountains in the background to get used to the travel atmosphere.

Day 2: Queenstown Skydiving and Ice Bar
- After viewing New Zealand's magnificent natural landscape from the sky with skydiving, enjoy a cocktail at the ice bar made of ice and enjoy a different atmosphere.

Day 3: Visit Milford Sound
- Explore the world-famous fiord terrain of Milford Sound by cruise and see waterfalls, mountains, and sea creatures (round trip takes about 8 hours, requires early departure).

Day 4: Move to Wanaka and winery tour
- Move from Queenstown to Wanaka by rental car (about 1 hour and 30 minutes). Before arriving at Lake Wanaka, it is recommended to stop by the Lavender Farm and take a look (admission fee 15 dollars). Stay at accommodation near Lake Wanaka, enjoy Lake Wanaka walks, wine tasting at famous wineries, and vineyard tours.

Day 5: Hooker Valley Track and Lake Tekapo
- Drive from Wanaka to Hooker Valley by rental car and enjoy the scenery of Lake Hooker and Mount Cook on a track (approximately 3-4 hours), then drive to Lake Tekapo (approximately 2 hours), sample alpine salmon along the way, and observe the night sky at a world-famous stargazing spot at night.

Day 6: Castle Hill and Christchurch
- Enjoy the unique rock formations and grasslands at Castle Hill, famous for the filming location of The Lord of the Rings, then drive from Tekapo to Christchurch (approximately 5 hours) and rest at accommodation.

Day 7: Christchurch City Tour
- Take a walk in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens while appreciating the beautiful gardens and plants, enjoy various foods and local culture at the Riverside Market, and finish by going to Sumner Beach.

Day 8: Transfer to Christchurch Airport
- Finish the trip by transferring to Christchurch Airport, returning the rental car, and preparing to return home.

*Travel Tips

On Days 1 and 2, we recommend a bus rather than a rental car as the experience is centered around Queenstown City and activities. We recommend a rental car from Days 3 and 4. (You can apply for a tour to Milford Sound on Day 3.) We recommend returning the rental car at Queenstown Airport to Christchurch Airport after renting it.
