Hibiya Park, located in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward, is a historic urban park in the heart of the city and one of the "Top 100 Autumn Foliage Spots in Japan." The park features approximately 500 maple, ginkgo, and beech trees that burst into vibrant hues of red and yellow during autumn (mid-November to early December). These colors beautifully complement the park's Western-style fountains, flower beds, and classical architecture, creating a romantic autumn atmosphere in the metropolis. The ginkgo-lined paths and lawns adorned with red maples are popular photography spots, offering a serene and elegant experience of Tokyo's autumn. Occasionally, nighttime illumination events are held during the foliage season, where the trees appear even more enchanting under the warm glow of lights.
Access: From Tokyo Station, take the JR Yamanote Line or Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line to "Kasumigaseki Station" and walk about 5 minutes, or take the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line to "Hibiya Station" and walk about 2 minutes. The park is free to enter and open all day, though some facilities like the library or restaurants have separate operating hours. Visiting in the early morning or on weekdays is recommended to avoid crowds and enjoy the harmonious scenery of autumn leaves against the urban skyline.
