Byodoin Temple is not far from Uji JR Station. You can walk slowly along the Uji River and pass the Uji Bridge.

Entering the inner courtyard, you will see the majestic Phoenix Hall with its unique roof and delicate decorative art, exuding extraordinary style. It is breathtaking to admire the pavilions, towers and verdant gardens along the trail.

When you come to Uji, which is famous for its green tea, of course you have to try some green tea. We went to the traditional teahouse in Byodoin to taste traditional green tea and Japanese confectionery, which ended this cultural journey.
