The Water Gods and Statuary were Genuinely Disturbing"
The figures of the water gods and goddesses surrounding the pools and fountains were given a subtle, terrifying treatment. They were draped in wet, mossy shrouds, and their stone features were illuminated from below to look sickly and pale. The wet, slick appearance of the stone seemed to suggest they had just emerged from the dark pool. It was an unsettling, subtle detail that turned the classical sculptures into ancient, forgotten horrors.
