Haw Phra Kaew, Vientiane, the former home of the Emerald Buddha

Ho Phra Kaew is located in Vientiane, near Wat Si Saket. You can walk there. In ancient times, this place used to be a temple. This temple was built to enshrine the Emerald Buddha that was invited from Lanna. But after Laos lost the war, the Emerald Buddha was invited to be enshrined at Wat Phra Kaew in Thailand instead.

Ho Phra Kaew is now a museum that displays ancient religious art. There are beautiful, old, and intact Buddha statues on display inside (photos are not allowed inside).
