Numaura Otatomari Swamp
It is located on the course from Oshidomari Port, where the ferry from Wakkanai arrives, to Kutsugata via Oniwaki and Senboshi.
Otatomari Swamp is located in Numaura Marsh, the largest marsh in Rishiri.
There is a promenade that takes about 20 to 30 minutes to go around, so you can enjoy a stroll while looking at Mt. Rishiri.
Recommended for light trekking!
Nearby are Mikazuki Swamp and Menushoro Swamp.
There is a shop at Otatomari Swamp.
We recommend handmade kelp crafts made with locally harvested Rishiri kelp!
They are perfect as souvenirs to give out individually wrapped.
These kelp crafts are made from Rishiri kelp, so they not only make a good soup stock, but you can also eat them.
*Rishiri kelp is hard, so it is not suitable for tsukudani compared to kelp from other areas.
Another nice point is that the crafts do not fall apart even when boiled and keep their cute shape!
At the Otatomari Swamp shop, you can also eat freshly caught scallops, sea urchins, and soft serve ice cream made with Japanese bamboo grass and sea laurel.
