This religious site is located on Singuttara Hill in Yangon, Myanmar. The name Shwedagon comes from two words: Shwe, which means “gold,” and Dagon, the old name of Yangon. It is believed that the top floor of the pagoda contains 8 strands of Buddha’s hair. The entire pagoda is made of gold and is decorated with many valuable ornaments. It is so beautiful and magnificent that it is considered the most valuable place in Myanmar.
In the past, I had only seen it in pictures. When I visited the real place, I understood what it meant to be more beautiful than in the picture. It was so beautiful, grand, and magnificent. In addition, I saw people with faith and belief. People came to pray and pay homage to the sacred objects around the pagoda. There were also people with faith sitting and meditating scattered throughout the large area.
If anyone comes to Myanmar, I recommend this place. It is another check-in point that is worth visiting and cannot be missed. #Shwedagon Pagoda #Myanmar #Travel to Myanmar #Neighboring Countries
