Zhangjiajie

Day 2: Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge Vibes

Checked out the iconic Zhangjiajie glass bridge and OMG, it’s like walking on air! The whole crew braved the cloudy, rainy weather—umbrellas out, but the views were still mind-blowing. This bridge is literally suspended over the Grand Canyon at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Address: Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China; Park Hours: 7:00am–6:00pm), and even with the mist, you can see dramatic cliffs, endless trees, and rivers winding way below. Walk carefully, especially when the glass gets slick in the rain! The adrenaline + scenery = unreal.

Also, life hack: Grab 2x small 🥟 (dumplings) and boom, you’re good for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. Street food in the rain hits soooo good!

Day 3: Tianmen Mountain (aka Heaven’s Gate)

Took on Tianmen Mountain and the legendary 999 stairs to Heaven’s Gate. Full-on stair master challenge, trust me—your legs will feel it—but the epic views at the top are totally worth the climb! Cloudy skies made the whole vibe mysterious, with fog rolling over the cliffs. (Address: Tianmen Mountain, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China; Cable Car Hours: 8:00am–5:30pm.)

Don’t forget to snap a pic when you finally reach the top… if you’re not too out of breath 😂.

Day 4: 72 Strange Buildings

Nighttime adventures at the 72 Strange Buildings, which get seriously cool after dark—literally, pack layers because the mountain air is straight-up chilly 🥶! The entire area lights up, making the quirky architecture look totally magical under the cloudy skies. Located near Zhangjiajie city center, these buildings are a wild mix of design styles and the perfect spot for mysterious night vibes.
