Elegant and exquisite hidden French cuisine in Wan Chai

Taking advantage of the holiday, I came over to Star Street in Wan Chai to enjoy a slower pace of life, strolling around and savoring a tasteful and refined lunch. I chose Maison ES, located at the end of a sloping street. The restaurant features a French countryside style, with flowers arranged at the entrance, creating a charming corner.

The lunch 3-course menu ($358@) includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The first two types of bread, brioche and sourdough, were both delicious, very soft and tender, and even better with butter.

Japanese Spot Prawn
An appetizer of botan shrimp and scallop sashimi, topped with salmon roe, seaweed, and crispy rice flakes, bursting with fresh flavors and a rich texture.

Garden Peas
Another appetizer with a very delicate presentation, featuring a green panna cotta base, garnished with asparagus, quail egg, salad greens, and dressed with a sweet and sour eight-treasure vinegar sauce, refreshing and appetizing.

Silver Pomfret Fillet
For the main course, we ordered the silver pomfret fillet. The fish is tender and smooth, marinated with sweet miso sauce to enhance its freshness. Served with a sauce made from fluorescent squid and shrimp paste, it has a savory and fragrant taste.

Spanish Pork Loin
The other main course was slow-cooked Spanish pork. Because it was slow-cooked, the pork was very tender, paired with rice noodles mixed with pineapple salsa and cheese sauce, offering a rich and layered flavor.

Desserts included macarons, kiwi sorbet with vanilla panna cotta, and yuzu ice cream. The dessert quality was good, beautifully plated, perfect for photos.
