Inuyama | Tea House Tamafuku, a great spot for summer ice treats.

Tea House Tamafuku
After visiting Inuyama Castle, on the way down towards Urakuen, I happened to spot a tea house right at the corner. The humid weather made it the perfect place to stop for a bowl of shaved ice and enjoy some cool air. The shop has plenty of seating, including regular tables and chairs as well as a tatami tea room. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can admire the garden view, making it a very comfortable and relaxing spot.

I ordered a bowl of Uji Kintoki matcha shaved ice. The vibrant matcha green was beautiful, and the bittersweet flavor combined with the icy coolness made it absolutely delicious. A bowl of shaved ice is the best way to beat the summer heat. Looking at the menu, they also offer a variety of wagashi sweets, making it a great place for a casual gathering with friends.
