Staycay @ Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City

Definitely your key to happiness like what their hotel card states! This is a pretty new 4-star hotel in Johor Bahru Malaysia, right next to City Square Mall. This means a lot of convenience if you are going in and out via the Singapore Woodlands Checkpoint.


We stayed in their Standard room with King Size bed, and it does live up to IHG standards. We got assign level 25 and the view was already good enough for us! Their highest floor is 33 and it holds meeting rooms, next at level 32 is their rooftop swimming pool and gym which overlooks the sea / JB city.


During our time of booking through a third-party site, we only had to pay 8 ringgit more for their breakfast, so why not? Do note that it is Halal breakfast served in buffet style, from 7am to 10am. Very decent spread but we do think they are short-staffed at the restaurant due to the slow service when it comes to food refills and clearing of plates. However this are very small and negligible points for us. Worth a try if you are not paying full price and love hotel breakfast.


Overall, we would definitely return for another stay for the price and convenience. The downside for me is that there is no rain shower across all their room types and only their suite room comes with bathtub.
