Visiting Heian-jingu Shrine in Kyoto was a serene and awe-inspiring experience. As I walked through the massive torii gate, the vivid vermillion structures immediately caught my eye, reflecting a blend of grandeur and tranquility. The main hall, a scaled-down replica of the ancient Heian Palace, stood majestic against the backdrop of lush gardens. Strolling through the shrine's expansive grounds, I found peace in the meticulously landscaped gardens, complete with serene ponds and traditional bridges. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, adding a touch of delicate beauty to the scene. Heian-jingu felt like a timeless connection to Japan's imperial past.
🚇 Take the subway via Karasuma Oike Station to Higashiyama Station, and then walk for 10 minutes
🚌 Take either bus 5 or bus 100 from Kyoto station.
