[Okinawa Cultural Tour] Art, Rainy Season, Family-Friendly Record: Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum

Get off at Shintoshin or Omoromachi 1-chome (bus or monorail), and walk about seven minutes to arrive.

The museum and art gallery has two sides: the natural and historical and cultural museum exhibitions, and the fine arts exhibitions, each with regular and special exhibitions (extra fees). If you want to see the whole place, you can save a lot of money by buying a one-day pass.

The outdoor exhibition area includes replicas of folk houses, stone lions, Wakuta kiln, Takakura, etc., which can give you a glimpse into the living buildings of the Okinawa Kingdom era or earlier.

Getting inside is the key. Most of the exhibitions that prohibit photography are regular exhibitions, so please pay attention to the instructions on the exhibition boards. The special exhibition happened to be a POP OUT exhibition of an Osaka painter, which left a particularly deep impression on me. The painters used brilliant colors, had interesting picture divisions, and were good at incorporating animals into their paintings.
