[Oita City, Oita Prefecture] Oita Prefectural Art Museum (OPAM)

The Oita Prefectural Art Museum OPAM in Oita City, Oita Prefecture is a building designed by Shigeru Ban, with a motif of bamboo crafts, a traditional craft of Oita Prefecture. 😃

It is quite rare to have an art museum that opens and closes, and even the local people rarely see it open, but it is truly beautiful when the windows are open and closed. ✨

The three-story facility has a traveling exhibition and museum shop on the first floor, a cafe and workspace where you can enjoy dishes made with local vegetables and meat on the second floor, and a permanent exhibition on the third floor.
The giant egg-shaped object on the first floor can be touched and is popular with children. 😆

The sophisticated art museum is open and is a spot where you can relax even when there are no exhibitions.
The museum shop has a variety of items, from works by artists in the prefecture to selected stylish items.
It's also a good place to look for souvenirs. 🎵

It's about a 15-minute walk from Oita Station.
There is also a shuttle bus, so you can easily visit!
