Sapporo's oldest dessert cafe, Niikuraya🍡Highly recommended

The atmosphere unique to the old days of Japan is called ‘Showa Retro’. I visited the Showa Retro Cafe during my trip to Sapporo, and I had such a great time that I recommend it.

‘Niikuraya’, which has been in business for 60 years, is the oldest dessert cafe in Sapporo, located in the Tanukikoji shopping arcade.

On the first floor, you can buy traditional desserts such as dango and ice cream made with Hokkaido milk, and on the second floor, there are tables where you can sit.

It felt like I was in an old Japanese movie, so I was so excited..! There were many old regular customers, so many elderly people came. It was definitely not a cafe style I’d seen often, so it was great.

The price-to-performance ratio is good at 550 yen for a set of 5 dango. I was full, so I only ordered a cup of coffee and one dango, but how did I just realize that dango is this delicious?
I immediately ordered one more black sesame dango! The dango here is 100% handmade dango without any preservatives or additives.
It's really chewy and soft.. You have to try it. Highly recommended!
The coffee is served with milk and syrup, so you can drink it to suit your taste.

I was so satisfied with the quiet and leisurely time I spent here that I think I'll visit Showa Retro Cafe often in the future.
The world is full of new and exciting things, but I like places that preserve the old much better:)
