A Healing Forest-Style Guesthouse Hidden in a Zhoushan Fishing Village: Da Le Zhi Ye · Nandong

Da Le Zhi Ye · Zhoushan Nandong
?LOST VILLA NANDONG
Located in Xinjian Village, Ganlan Town, Dinghai District, Zhoushan City, adjacent to the core area of Nandong Yigu Scenic Spot. It is about a 40-minute drive from Zhujiajian Pier, a 1-hour drive from Ningbo, and only about 3 hours from Hangzhou and Shanghai. The Hui-style architectural complex with white walls and black tiles is built along the mountain, blending beautifully with the green mountains and clear waters, like a hidden village straight out of a Hayao Miyazaki manga.
The guesthouse consists of 18 independent courtyards, each named after one of Dinghai’s 18 local villages or communities (such as Wengshan, Pengcai, Haishan), with each building carrying the memory of local culture. The exterior continues the Hui-style with horse-head walls, flying eaves, and bluestone pathways, combined with Jiangnan garden landscaping. The minimalist black and white color scheme stands out vividly against the greenery; inside, modern minimalist design is integrated with solid wood furniture, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and open layouts, allowing natural light and mountain views to flow seamlessly indoors.
The hotel has a total of 44 rooms distributed across the 18 independent courtyards. Room types include large bed rooms, exquisite large bed rooms, and family rooms. Some rooms feature private courtyards or scenic balconies, with windows opening to lush mountain views or pastoral landscapes. All rooms continue Da Le Zhi Ye’s signature minimalist style, equipped with modern smart devices, underfloor heating and air conditioning, high-end bathrooms, custom bedding, and toiletries, wrapping the comfort of modern life within a traditional shell.
The Ye You Shi restaurant specializes in fresh seafood from Zhoushan’s local port and seasonal mountain delicacies. Every morning, chefs purchase fresh fish from the pier to prepare dishes like yellow croaker with rice cakes and stir-fried crab rice, showcasing authentic fisherman's flavors. Breakfast is served family-style, featuring Zhoushan rice noodles, seafood porridge, freshly baked purple sweet potato cakes paired with hand-brewed coffee—delicate and heartwarming. In the afternoon, guests can move to the “Ye You Ka” café to enjoy specially crafted island-flavored coffee, accompanied by handmade desserts and the scent of books, perfect for leisurely moments.
