This time, I went on a self-guided tour around Taiwan with my son. It happened to be the Luye Plateau hot air balloon carnival season, so as soon as we arrived in Taitung, we immediately hired a taxi to Luye Plateau (about NT$700 per person).

The excellent view from Luye Plateau provides a panoramic view of the entire plateau area and the fields of Beinan Valley. It is also an excellent natural airspace activity venue in eastern Taiwan.
From June to August every year, you can watch or participate in the hot air balloon activities at Luye Plateau. The valley terrain and plain settlement space of Luye Plateau are also a favorite for those who love paragliding and hang gliding.

Hot air balloons must be booked two months in advance, otherwise they will be sold out very early.
We encountered a typhoon this time and the hot air balloon trip was cancelled. 😭😭
