📒.. This ancient temple holds historical significance for Chiang Rai. The construction history remains unknown. It was originally named Wat Pa Ya or Wat Pa Yia (written in Pali as Nyarakwanaram) due to the abundance of Yia trees, a native bamboo species, growing within the temple grounds.

📸..Phra Chao Lan Thong, the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall, is a bronze Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, sitting cross-legged. It is considered the largest and most beautiful Buddha image in the Pala style in Thailand.

📸..The Jade Buddha of Chiang Rai is enshrined in the Jade Buddha Hall.
