#AugustDestinations2025
This is the popular Hinoki Forest Village in downtown Chiayi. Formerly a Japanese-style dormitory complex for the Forestry Bureau, it has been revitalized and renovated into a renowned tourist attraction. At the entrance to the village, in front of the Annual Ring Square, stands a sign adorned with three Alishan red cypresses. The park, primarily composed of 29 Japanese-style buildings, covers approximately 3.4 hectares and is divided into the "Agricultural Boutique Zone," the "Hinoki Town Harajuku Zone," and the "Wood Art Zone." This cultural and creative park, themed around forestry culture, craft design, cultural creativity, and lifestyle innovation, is a place steeped in the theme of "Forest Culture and Creativity." You can see many children and young women dressed in yukata strolling through the park, making it feel like you're transported to Japan. Hinoki Forest Village also offers a wide selection of local souvenirs, making them must-buys for any visitor. The Hinoki Forest Village not only houses the largest Japanese-style architectural complex in Taiwan, but is also the nation's first forest cultural and creative park. It has also witnessed the century-long development of Taiwan's forestry industry.
